Veteran’s Services has long had a presence on the University of Northern Colorado (SWAGÊÓƵ) campus, yet there’s newfound excitement brought to the program with the arrival of a new director. Just this summer, this new director stepped into Roudebush Cottage with purpose. LaChaune DuHart-Wood came to SWAGÊÓƵ with a drive to provide hands-on care and build a community for the veteran and military-affiliated students on campus.

May 2021 alumna Heather Anderson shares her experience completing a degree at SWAGÊÓƵ and beginning her next role with Visit Greeley, the Greeley-area tourism board.

For Lori (Garcia) Sadler ’67 and her husband, Woody Sadler, a commitment to service and making a difference has been a common thread through their military careers and beyond. Now, they’re helping future generations of students with the Colonels Lorraine M. Garcia Sadler and Woodson A. Sadler Jr. PLC Scholarship Endowment.

Thanks to an estate gift left by long time SWAGÊÓƵ friend and Northern Colorado business leader Larry Vosmera, SWAGÊÓƵ creates a new scholarship for veteran, active duty or ROTC students majoring in business. The fund will also name a space in the new Campus Commons.

Love for the game of tennis and the theatre, coupled with a desire to make a difference, led heart surgeon Dr. Ken Richards and wife Beth Richards to establish student scholarships funding their passions.
